Martin Morrow writes to the CTCA

Dear CTCA members,

It’s a rare occasion when members of both the Canadian Theatre Critics Association and our sister (brother?) organization, the Association Quebecoise des Critiques de Theatre, get to meet and debate. It’s happening this month, courtesy of Montreal’s Festival TransAmeriques, which is hosting a joint critics’ panel on Saturday, May 23 at 5 p.m. EST.

The panel will discuss the most hotly anticipated show at this year’s FTA: Michael Thalheimer’s take on Moliere’s Tartuffe, from Berlin’s Schaubuhne theatre. It’s a bilingual event and the panelists are The Globe and Mail’s J. Kelly Nestruck and Alvina Ruprecht of Ottawa’s Capital Critics’ Circle — representing CTCA — and Christian Saint-Pierre (Le Devoir) and Brigitte Purkhardt (JEU) from the AQCT.

If you happen to be in Montreal for the FTA that weekend — or were thinking of going — please join us. For more details, see our Facebook pages
